Languages for Children 3-9 years

Children's Division students are adjusted to separation and attend class by themselves.

In Children's classes, students learn a new language in a happy language immersion environment filled with exciting age-appropriate action games, visual aids, LWFC vocabulary songs, playful and educational activities and lots and lots of laughs.  Because kids over the age of three are fully verbal, Children's classes are vocal and animated. Students are more aware of each other than in Tots so they enjoy each other’s company and interacting as a group.

These groups use phrases and full sentences and later as the children progress, they learn stories and dialogues. Classes are relaxed and happy because the students are constantly engaged in rapidly changing activities.  Best of all because they love and can benefit from stories students in our Children’s classes not only get our Songs & More Workbook/CD sets but also a brand new LWFC Storybook every session.

The New York City Main location offers parents two types of classes: Regular Curriculum (RC) or Continuing Curriculum (CC).  In CC classes students are enrolled for the full school year (Fall+Winter+Spring) and new students are not admitted into CC classes in Winter or Spring.  Since CC groups are fixed, students continuously build upon the curriculum they learned last session and cover more material during the school year. 

Since 1973 The Language Workshop for Children’s approach remains the first and most respected method in children’s language educational play.  Part of The Thibaut Technique® magic is training teachers to blend laughs, emotional support, melodies, colorful props, and gentle personal interaction into every lesson.  A child’s attention and imagination is captured so they truly absorb the words and sentence basics they hear. Every class offers students a mix of familiar routines and new songs, words, and phrases as a means to build French, Spanish, Italian or Chinese fluency.
