45 Minutes | Professionally Developed Take-Home Material
Students attend Tots classes with a parent or caregiver.
In a 45-minute Tots structured playgroup, children absorb their target language through stimulating games, language immersion, visual aids, original LWFC songs, tactile materials and more! Tots playgroups build more than language skills. As youngsters handle toys and visual aids, they develop motor skills and coordination. As they participate and interact, they imagine, discover, and build social skills too.
Since 1973 The Language Workshop for Children’s approach remains the first and most respected method in children’s language educational play. Part of The Thibaut Technique® magic is training teachers to blend laughs, emotional support, melodies, colorful props, and gentle personal interaction into every lesson. A child’s attention and imagination is captured so they truly absorb the words and sentence basics they hear. Every class offers students a mix of familiar routines and new songs, words, and phrases as a means to build French, Spanish, Italian or Chinese fluency.
Languages for Tots® is age-appropriate, grouping children in 6-20M, 13-24M, and 20M-3Y classes. Most locations offer parents two types of classes:
Original Program (OP). Original Program classes are 45M of emotionally supportive, stimulating language immersion activities. Tots learn words, meanings, and basic grammar through the LWFC’s language building songs, prop activities, and more.
Arts & Crafts (AC). In an AC class the first 35 minutes is Original Program. Then for the last 10 minutes children work on a simple “shape-pasting” arts & crafts project offering a visual means to reinforce word meanings and develop motor skills.
Tots between 2-3.6Y also have the option of joining our special pre-nursery program called Family Preschool where we combine a 45M Tots Original Program with 45M of traditional preschool activities like pre-reading, story time, arts & crafts, projects, and socialization.
